Ideally, you would teach all six Digital Civic Inquiry units in order. However, if you have limited time and can teach fewer than 6 units, consider the guidance below.
If you are planning to teach ____ unit(s):
- One: We recommend you teach Unit 3, which introduces students to the evaluation strategy of lateral reading.
- Two: We recommend you teach Unit 1 and Unit 3, so students are introduced to the concept of credibility and are introduced to lateral reading.
- Three: We recommend you teach Units 1, 3, and 5. This way, students are introduced to the concept of credibility, model and practice lateral reading, and are introduced to click restraint.
- Four or Five: Supplement Units 1, 3, and 5 with units on topics that are most aligned with your curriculum or will be most engaging to students.
